Pilates Classes

Pilates aims to strengthen the body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core strength to improve general fitness and wellbeing. It has something to offer people of all ages and levels of ability and fitness, from beginners to elite athletes. Attending regular classes can help improve posture, muscle tone, balance, and joint mobility, as well as relieve stress and tension. There’s some evidence Pilates can provide pain relief to people with non-specific lower back pain. It is as a muscle-strengthening activity, which helps you maintain a healthy weight. Classes can vary in intensity: they can be gentle or dynamic and offer a solid workout. If you want to lose weight, we recommend you combine Pilates with a healthy diet and some other regular exercise.

Pre/Post Natal Pilates

Pre-Natal classes offer all the benefits of Pilates whilst you are going through your pregnancy.
When can you start? We suggest, if you are new to Pilates, you start in your 12th week of pregnancy and continue right up until your due date. If Pilates is part of your usual exercise regime you can start at any time through your pregnancy.

Post-Natal Pilates classes also offer all the benefits of Pilates to help you get your core strength back following the birth of your baby and help you recover your pre-baby shape and boost your much-needed energy level.
When can you start? We suggest waiting until you have been given the go-ahead by your GP, at your Post-natal check-up. It is usual to start around 6 weeks after a normal delivery. Babies up to crawling age welcome and can be kept in a car seat or next to you on a mat.

Monday: 10:45-11:45am (Pre-Natal only)
